Abstract

Erythema annulare centrifugum (EAC) is a relatively rare inflammatory skin disease that is typically characterized by erythematous annular patches or papules with trailing scales of unknown etiology. It is considered a cutaneous hypersensitivity reaction with a wide range of implicating factors such as infection, malignancy, autoimmune disorder, medications, and pregnancy. Despite its typical clinical manifestations, the accurate pathogenesis of EAC remains unknown. We present what is to our knowledge the first Korean case of EAC in pregnancy, which completely disappeared within 1 month after delivery. Our case suggests that endocrine, hormonal, or metabolic alterations during pregnancy may be associated with the etiology and clinical course of EAC.
